Our Metro wardrobe - made to measure - sliding door is our best running door by far. It is built using a nylon running mechanism and is designed to create a soft and ease free glide across the aluminium wardrobe track. Both top and bottom wheels are concealed under the door rail and are sprung to allow for an easy fit into the track. The Metro top track is very similar to the bottom, using a built in channel for the wheel to sit in maintaining a central location throughout the track.
At the base of the Metro sliding wardrobe kit's door, the bottom wheel is the weight bearing element of the sliding mechanism. Each wheel has a positioning screw on the side of the wheel that allows you to independently adjust the height of each door by up to 20 mm. Once fully installed the metro glides freely across the aluminium track with an almost silent movement.
All Metro sliding wardrobe wheels and top guides use a concealed running design and are cycle tested to 100,000 opening and closing actions in accordance with the ANSI BHMA A156.14 standards charter. This Standard outlines requirements for Sliding Door Wardrobes used in mainland America and covers durability and static load, abuse, static friction as well as kinetic friction as well as the smoothness of the running mechanism itself . This also covers hardware used for light to very heavy doors and covers both residential and industrial applications.
The American National Standard for Sliding Wardrobe Door Hardware covers every possible area of design and stability and enables all sliding wardrobe hardware used is fit for purpose, enabling us to confidently guarantee our running gear for 10 years of continuous use.
